Budget Impact: Tesla Slashes Model 3 & Model Y Prices By Up to Rs 31,00,000

With the government now reducing the excise and customs duties on EVs between 100 to 200 kW and 200 to 300 kW, Arete International, the distributor of Tesla in Nepal, has revised the pricing of the Model 3 and Model Y. Scroll below for the revised pricing of Tesla electric cars in Nepal.[table id=252 /]Tesla Model 3:The Tesla Model 3 comes in a single variant only - Standard Range Plus. Powered by a 54 kWh battery pack, the Model 3 delivers a range of 451 km (WLTP). The Model 3 produces 198 kW of power. In terms of features, the Model 3 gets  Pirelli P Zero tires, a Carbon fiber spoiler, a 15-inch touchscreen display, a glass roof, etc. Safety features include Lane Support Systems, Seatbelt Reminder, Speed Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking. The Model 3 has achieved a Euro NCAP 5-star safety rating.Tesla Model Y:The Tesla Model Y is available in two variants - Standard Range and Long Range. The long-range produces 291 kW of power and the standard range churns out 209 kW. Powered by a 54 kWh battery pack, the Standard Range delivers a range of 400 km (WLTP). The Long Range variant, on the other hand, features a larger 75 kWh battery pack to deliver a range of 525 km (WLTP). The Tesla Model Y gets features like a 15-inch touchscreen display, an all-glass roof, etc.  In terms of safety, the EURO NCAP 5-star certified Model Y gets Lane Support Systems, Seatbelt Reminder, Speed Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, etc.For EVs between 100 to 200 kW, the government has decreased the excise duty and customs duty to 20 percent each. Earlier, EVs between 100 kW to 200 kW attracted a 30 percent excise and 30 percent customs. Similarly, EVs between 200 to 300 kW now attract 45 percent excise and 40 percent customs. Previously, EVs making 200 to 300 kW attracted 45 percent excise and 45 percent customs.The Model X, on the other hand, will be available at the same earlier pricing because the excise and customs on electric cars above 300 kW capacity have not been changed. The Model X delivers 492 kW of power.
